It is with great pleasure that I congratulate you for your son or daughter's accomplishment as being a member of your District Little League 10-11 year old Champion. As champion, your team will be playing in the State Championship to be held July 12th thru July 19th at Frederick National LL in Frederick, Maryland. I want to convey some information that may help you plan for this tournament.
Please if you are planning on staying over at a motel make your reservation now, as rooms are very scarce in Frederick during the summer weekends. Your manager has a motel list. When you get to the field you may have to park away from the field. Please follow the directions of the parking volunteers. We are not responsible if a ball hits your car.
We have plenty of seating but you might want to bring a chair as you may want to sit beyond the outfield fence. We have both permanent and temporary restrooms at this site. The concession stand will be available for normal drinks, hotdogs, hamburgers etc. Please support the host league to help cover the costs of this tournament.
I know that parents and family get very excited and involved in games. Remember these are kids and they are trying their hardest but they are just 10 and 11 years old. Please be positive in all comments made to and about the players ofevery team. District 2 will not tolerate negative comments directed towards the players and if heard and the individual refuses to stop that individual will be removed from the tournament site. Umpires are volunteers and are doing the best they can. You are not going to agree with every call but District 2 will not tolerate any verbal abuse of an umpire. District 2 will remove from the tournament site any individual acting in an unreasonable manner toward the umpires. Please do not embarrass your child or team by having to be removed. We want the Tournament to be a positive experience for everyone involved.
Ihope you and your team have a great week in Frederick and hopefully your team will be State champion.
There is plenty of parking in the general area around Robert B. Staley Stadium. Parking is permitted on the neighborhood streets around the field area. Public parking lots are located within a 1-2 min walk of the field. (see map below for designated parking areas)
DROP OFF AREA: Frederick National has designated an area on Staley Ave. next to the field as a NO PARKING AREA that will be used for families to drop off players and equipment before parking.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not park in the townhouse parking lot adjacent to the field. Parking in that area is for residents only. You will be towed at your own cost if you park in this area.
YMCA PARKING AREA: The parking lot that is located beyond the right field fence will be designated for Coaches and Umpires only during Maryland Tournament
